Michelle T. Luc is an attorney in the Pasadena and San Francisco offices of Vanderford & Ruiz, LLP. She focuses her practice on workers’ compensation defense, medical malpractice, subrogation, and personal injury.

Ms. Luc has successfully represented employers, insurance companies, and third party administrators against California workers’ compensation claims. Her aggressive litigation tactics have resulted in “take nothings” aka defense verdicts, dismissals, reduced settlements, and expeditious claim closures. She has extensive experience with structured settlements. Ms. Luc has also obtained stellar results in medical malpractice and personal injury lawsuits, including favorable resolutions of complex high exposure PVS and traumatic airway cases.

Prior to joining Vanderford & Ruiz, LLP, Ms. Luc practiced law at a national law firm. She also performed extensive law and motion work for two boutique law firms, specializing in civil litigation and non-profit entity formation. Ms. Luc previously volunteered at the Legal Aid Foundation Los Angeles, Self-Help Legal Access Center, where she assisted low income individuals with unlawful detainers, breach of contract actions, and temporary restraining orders. During law school, Ms. Luc also served as a certified Law Clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office (Central District), where she prosecuted misdemeanor trials under the supervision of an Assistant U.S. Attorney.

Ms. Luc received her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where she was the Senior Research Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. While attending Loyola Law School, Ms. Luc also studied international law at the Universidad Para La Paz in Costa Rica. Ms. Luc has a B.A. in English (Creative Writing) and a B.A. in East Asian Languages and Culture (Chinese Studies) from the University of Southern California. She completed an intensive Mandarin language program at Peking University in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, as part of her undergraduate studies. Ms. Luc is duly licensed to practice law in the State of California.

When not advocating for her clients, Ms. Luc enjoys literature, theatre, and traveling.
